First-of-its-kind, plant-based bbq will launch at Central Florida 4 Rivers Smokehouses on Nov. 4

Winter Park, FL. – To the delight and surprise of hundreds of friends, family and bbq lovers gathered at the 4 Rivers Smokehouse in Winter Park to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the award-winning restaurant group debuted its all-new Beyond Burnt Ends on Oct. 26. The dish will be the first product released from the brand’s forthcoming “Beyond BBQ” vegan line.

John Rivers, 4R Restaurant Group Founder/CEO, introduced the 100 percent plant-based dish that he and his culinary team spent months collaborating on, following a ceremony with Winter Park Mayor Steve Leary proclaiming Oct. 26 “4 Rivers Day” in honor of it being a decade to the day since the original 4 Rivers Smokehouse opened on Fairbanks Avenue.

“I don’t think many people were expecting to sample vegan burnt ends tonight when they came to celebrate 4 Rivers 10th anniversary,” said Rivers. “But as a brand, we’re constantly evolving and listening to consumers and right now there is definitely a demand for plant-based bbq. We received some great feedback from our fans and think the Beyond Burnt Ends will be a welcome addition to the menu.”

Similar to its carnivorous cousin, Beyond Burnt Ends are double hickory-smoked then slow-roasted allowing the sauce to caramelize. The plant-based version also features a vegan signature 4R sauce and vegan brioche bun.

Beyond Burnt Ends will be available in limited quantities at all Central Florida 4 Rivers Smokehouse locations beginning Monday, Nov. 4. Pricing for the Beyond Burnt Ends is $8.79 per sandwich, $9.29 per half pound and $18.59 per pound. A dinner option with three sides is also available for $16.39.
